Like many people our age, we met on a dating app. By July 2020, COVID restrictions had been relaxed slightly and we were able to have our first date at a patio on a warm Summer night. We watched the sun go down on the banks of the Credit River, and scheduled our next date.

We did all the normal relationship things over the next few months until restrictions tightened again. We went from spending weekends together to spending months in the house on Arkell to be in each other’s social bubble.

We moved from student housing to a one-bedroom apartment in Hamilton to our townhouse in Guelph, gradually building a life together. We adopted animals together, co-hosted parties, and have come to see our partner’s friends and families as our own.

On Christmas Eve 2024, we got engaged and started the next chapter of our wonderful life. Although our wedding will end our time as fiancés, it begins the rest of our lives as husband and wife. We can’t wait to share more of our love story and celebrate our union with you!
